The Mahabal Group's state-of- the art foundry, at Miraj, in South Maharashtra, has a capacity of almost 400 MT, of GI and S.G. Iron castings per annum. Which is likely to double over the next few years. With over 15,000 sq. feet of built-up area, this modern foundry, is located on sprawling 3.25 acre site. Initially conceived as a major step in the Mahabal Groups background integration exercise, it now operates as a fully independent unit, whilst also providing high quality casting to support the Group's sophisticated machining capability.

The fully integrated foundry includes pneumatic moulding machines, a semi-automatic mould handling system, automated sand plant, a core shop equipped with cold box core shooter, a fettling shop and a fully equipped laboratory, with Spectrometer Imported from Germany The mould making line accepts box sizes of 520 mm x 400 mm x 150 mm, while the induction furnace takes loads of upto 500 kgs.
The semi-automated mould handling system reduces human labour, enhances precision casting capacity and substantially increases plant productivity. The automated core shop, provides the foundry with the capability of producing highly precise cores, for the most complex of castings. The fettling shop is fully equipped with shotblasting machines and grinders, to produce finished castings. Digita carbon equivalent meter, sand testing lab and microscopes add to this comprehensive quality assurance capability.
